Book 890: Playing at Home (Sporting Secrets #2) – Jax Calder

I have been waiting for this ARC request to arrive in my inbox ever since I read the teaser at the end of Playing Offside and it was worth the wait!*

Playing at Home is the story of Jacob Browne, professional rugby player and son of a legendary New Zealand rugby player who’s recently split with his wife but is co-parenting his kids, and Austin, the manny his wife hires who’s fled London after a mess with his previous employer.

Book 887: If This Gets Out – Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich

My little closeted teenage heart would’ve died to read something like this in the late-90s/early-00s. So, when I saw it on NetGalley I requested it IMMEDIATELY, the publisher approved, and I have been sitting on it for months.*

I know I’ve said it before and I’ll keep on saying it—I am SO jealous of all the teens today getting to see themselves in books like this. I mean hell I enjoy them and I am WELL outside the target demographic for these.

Book 878: Mr. Naughty List (Home for the Holidays #2) – Leta Blake

Kindle Unlimited is both a curse and a blessing. There are some well written and incredibly poor written books on there, and there are SO MANY books. You’ll never really be at a loss for something if you’re cool with self-publishing (which is always hit or miss), don’t want to read anything from most major publishers, and aren’t looking for the hot new release. So yeah, definitely hit or miss.

It was a hit for me after having received a review request for Mr. Jingle Bells, the third book in Leta Blake’s Home for the Holidays series. I was able to grab Mr. Frosty Pants and this one. And let me tell you, this one REALLY picks up the spice and the heat. I’m talking full on kink-tacular Christmas celebration with costumes and spanking and other stuff too.

Book 864: Hold My Hand (One Man Guy #2) – Michael Barakiva

This was an adorable angsty follow-up to Barakiva’s One Man Guy. I feel like he could choose an emotion and keep going with Alek and Ethan exploring what that emotion means to the two of them and how it changes their relationship.

Hold My Hand picks up roughly five months after the end of One Man Guy, and Alek is facing fears of how and when they’ll take their relationship to the next level physically and honestly, it’s endearing and horrifying and hilarious all at the same time. (Seriously, read the second quote in the more quotes. DIED.)  The rest of this will contain spoilers so stay out if you don’t want to know the main plot point and what happens.

Book 858: Heated Rivalry (Game Changers #2) – Rachel Reid

What’s better than one enemies-to-lovers MM Sports Romance? TWO BACK-TO-BACK!!!! 😀

I hadn’t planned it this way, but I put this one on hold after finishing Game Changer and enjoying the preview, so when it popped up so quickly from my local library and I had a gap to read it in I went for it.

In Game Changer we meet one of the two protagonists, Ilya, an unlovable Russian jackass who’s been leading the Boston Bears (I see what you did there) to the championship multiple years in a row. But we never met Shane, Ilya’s biggest rival since the draft and their rookie year, who has led the Montreal team to success.
