Book 957: My Love Mix-Up! (Vol. 3) – Wataru Hinekure & Aruko

This series continues to be so freakin’ adorable and wholesome and I’m not going to be waiting for the future volumes! The next one comes out later this fall with so many others still needing

Again continuing the story right after the last volume ended we find Aoki and Ida with Aida and Hashimoto and all their classmates on a winter ski trip. Aoki and Hashimoto are relegated to the D class because they’re so bad and Ida and Aida are in the A class.

Book 936: Café con Lychee – Emery Lee

What another wonderful juxtaposition from Dream Boy with so much light and happiness and just pure wholesome queer joy, I’ve really been putting myself through an emotional rollercoaster these last couple of weeks. Seriously, emotional whiplash is not fun and thankfully I can work from home where tearing up on my lunch break is totally acceptable.

I requested a copy of Café con Lychee because 1) I love lychee, like seriously on everything and lychee candy is the best—I say “LIE-chee” not “LEE-chee”; 2) to BIPOC protagonists which YA Lit is a lot better about than MM Romance; and 3) New England.*

(Seriously, read the second quote in the more quotes. DIED.)  The rest of this will contain spoilers so stay out if you don’t want to know the main plot point and what happens.

Book 842: One Man Guy (One Man Guy #1) – Michael Barakiva

I didn’t plan to read this in an afternoon, it just happened 😀 Started it on my lunch break and then just kept going.

At some point last year, I requested a copy of this via NetGalley but was either denied or never heard back and as I was cleaning up my account I saw it listed somewhere and was like “oh that one did sound interesting,” so I checked my library and they had a digital copy and here we are.

Book 841: The Sky Blues – Robbie Couch

After finishing Jay’s Gay Agenda, I stumbled across this one either on Amazon or Overdrive in a “similar books” list. The cover was adorable and then I read the blurb and immediately requested a copy of it.

The Sky Blues is a delightful debut novel that tugs at all the heart strings without causing too much angst to the reader, highlights the importance of found family and community, and gives all the young LGBT+/queer kids out there another wonderful book to read that’s full of hope, wonder, and joy.
