Book 699 & 700: Two for Trust – Elle Brownlee

[I also read this again in February of 2023, again in October of 2024, and again in March 2025.]

Holy. Hell.

Apparently, this is the MM Romance novel I’ve been looking for. I had no idea it was what I needed until I read it, and then immediately turned around and re-read it again. I am not joking about this—I finished it in bed one night and then halfway through the next day I started it again and finished it in bed that night.

I mean, this isn’t even that wonderfully written. There’s nothing really wrong with the writing, but there are no surprises, the crises is laughable (miscommunication obviously), and the whole Cinderfella story line is standard AF. But OMG I want it all and I want it again. What is actually wrong with me? I am 100% debating a third re-read, but that’s just ridiculous right?

Book 698: Arctic Sun (Frozen Hearts #1) – Annabeth Albert

I can’t very well stop my MM romance streak, if the local library decides to repurchase/and or release extra copies of books I place on hold well before I started this streak can I? We’re all in agreement? Good, because there are more to come 😀

In her Frozen Heart series, Annabeth Albert takes us to the wilds of Alaska and it is worth it. She managed to capture the magic and vastness all while turning the heat up on a budding romance with two characters balancing mental health/addiction issues.

February Recap 2020

It feels like ages ago that we were on our (what has come to be) annual trek to warmer climates during the winter. And I miss it so much, I mean look at that water and that blue sky, it was wonderful and even worth the sunburn!

We did the same cruise we did last year, which allowed me to read four full books and get a good chunk of the way through a fifth, all while lounging by a pool or on a beach. Isn’t that the life?

November & December Recap 2019

Christmas trees with decorationsNovember and December were a bit of a blur with three trips, the busiest time of year at work and a I had a strong desire to knit more than I’ve had in the last few months, so my reading slumped and my blog posting definitely slumped.

This post is a pretty light recap of the past two months with A LOT of photos. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen most of them, but I’ve included a few panoramic views from our trip to Death Valley National Park and a few others that didn’t make the Instagram cut. And if you want a good laugh go check out these photos I took at Badwater Basin in Death Valley since they’re not on here.

August Recap 2019

I think I’ve had a quintessential New England August, all that’s really missing was the Cape and/or the beach. Knowing how many people would be going that direction as summer winds down we went to the opposite direction to western Massachusetts and north to Maine. I’ll get to all of this at the end of the post, because we also saw “BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life” at the Museum of Science – Boston, “Gender Bending Fashion” at the Museum of Fine Arts, and John Williams night at Tanglewood. SO MUCH CULTURE.
