Book cover of "Betting on his BF" with Amazon Affiliate linkSimilar to the authors, this is the book that I didn’t know I wanted until I was halfway through the book. I thought PJ and Felix were both great characters when they made their appearances throughout the series so far, so was glad to see them get a book.

Betting on His BF continues the trend of the Alpha and Sigma frat brothers falling for each other. This one, however, takes place 100% away from campus and the only time we run into anyone from the other books is during the epilogue.

Book 927: Rearranged (Do-Over #1) – E.M. Denning

Book cover of "Rearranged" with Amazon Affiliate linkHaving seen the mess that some people make of themselves when they go to Las Vegas when this book popped up on my radar I jumped at the chance to grab a copy of it.*

And for the most part, I wasn’t disappointed. You have Rowan, the perfect son who has done everything his parents have ever asked him to do including marrying his friend who he has no attraction to, and Sid, the literal red-headed-step child (of his dad’s political rival), who is a contrarian when it comes to doing ANYTHING his parents want him to do.

Book 913: Word Nerd – John D. Williams, Jr.

At first, I thought it was The Allusionist or 99% Invisible podcasts, but can’t find any mention of it on their sites and there’s nothing on NPR, aside from a review which I usually avoid, points to where it came from. I also didn’t purchase it from Amazon or any other online book retailer, so I must’ve randomly picked it up in a physical store and not tracked the purchase.

I’m glad I picked it up though! Not because I play SCRABBLE, because I’m not great at it, but because it just had a great title and subtitle and I figured it’d be an interesting read and it truly was.

May Recap 2021

Another whirlwind month in what seems to be the waning stages of the pandemic (I’m still not convinced).

After the last-minute trip home for my grandfather’s services, I immediately turned around and got on a plane again to go see Tim’s family in Las Vegas. For the most part the flights felt safe and the hotels/casinos kept people distanced, but it was weird being there as things started to open up! Like the table dividers came down our last day and I was like whoa-whoa-whoa, let’s not go crazy!
