Book 748: Full Domain (Nice Guys #3) – Kindle Alexander

This series could’ve stopped with the last book—it wasn’t bad, just underwhelming.

This picks up immediately after Full Disclosure and jumps right back into the story focusing on Kreed Sinacola (Mitch Knox partner from the second book) and Aaron Stuart (Mitch’s gaming friend). Aaron’s been called in to help with the case that started in Double Full and was “solved” in Full Disclosure, but he poked holes in the tidy package that wrapped up the case. So, it’s a problem he created for himself.

Book 743: Double Full (Nice Guys #1) – Kindle Alexander

After slamming It’s A Steal and discovering the few people who weighed in similarly I noticed this title on one of their Goodreads profiles and thought why not since I have the Kindle Unlimited membership for the year. And for once, Goodreads came through!

I was a bit put off at the beginning because it starts a bit more like L.A. Witt’s works and Damon Suede’s works in that they go right in and they go hard. Yes, I’m talking about sex. This one starts off with a hot and heavy sex scene where Colton, quarter back, NFL prospect, and All-American Boy, is buried balls deep in Jace, four year out and proud cheerleader, in a college locker room after having just come onto him. Thankfully, it cools down for a bit but I was definitely worried it was going to be constant hot and heavy.

Book 713: Force Play – Elle Brownlee

Still chasing the high from Two for Trust, I’ve kept an eye out for additional books by Elle Brownlee. Plus, who doesn’t love as MM sports romance?

This is the story of Hawk, a pro ball player who wakes up after a big bender and ending up in a gay bar with photos on all the media, and Caleb, a former pro ball player who has his own trauma, but does his best to be the support Hawk needs as he navigates living openly.

Book 711: Sticks & Scones (Check, Please! #2) – Ngozi Ukazu

I’m so sad this is over. I waited a full year for it, and it was wonderful, but I’m still sad. I re-read each of the two books twice this time to really soak them in and make sure I looked at the artwork and appreciated the dialogue.

I’ll be frank and say that I’m not sure I enjoyed this as much as the first one. I don’t think it was anyone thing and I don’t think that should detract anyone else from reading it, but for me it didn’t have the perfection or the je ne sais quoi (that’s a nod to Jack ;-D) the first book did. There are spoilers after the jump, so don’t read ahead unless you want to know where #Hockey ended.

Book 710: #Hockey (Check, Please! #1) – Ngozi Ukazu

After reading this last January, I knew I would revisit it. And thanks to a gift card for Christmas to Barnes and Noble, where I don’t usually shop, I ordered a copy of this and the follow up Sticks & Scones. This was all before coronavirus, and I had Sticks & Scones shipped to my office, where I hadn’t been able to get to it for almost a month after it was delivered 🙁

But when I got it, you know I had to re-read this one. And I loved it as mush as my first read. This time around I spent more time luxuriating in the artwork since I’d read the story previously and didn’t need to focus so much on who’s who and it was worth it.
