Book 994: Ice Angels (Bethesda Barracudas #3) – Ryan Taylor & Joshua Harwood

Book cover of "Ice Angels" with Amazon Affiliate linkIn this book, we find out that not only is Drew, a captain of an opposition team, gay and has been for the entire series (we met him in The New Next One) but he’s been in a long-term committed relationship with Cleeves, another forward from the Bethesda Barracuda, for most of the series!?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad we didn’t know because everyone comes out in their own timeframe, but I was a little like wait what going into this one!? There were quite a few flashbacks, but most of the novel was spent with Drew and Cleeves trying to figure out how they could be together when their teams were halfway across the country and their travel schedules were always in opposition.

Book 884: The Holiday Hoax – Skylar M. Cates

Book cover of "The Holiday Hoax" with Amazon Affiliate linkThis was a perfectly lovely, low-angst Chrismukkah fake boyfriend MM Holiday Romance.

I grabbed this because of the above. Who doesn’t love a fake boyfriend story or a holiday romance? I mean come on, it’s the perfect time of the year and weather to snuggle up by a fire and read a one-sitting romance with minimal angst and an adorable happy for now ending.

Book 777: Ben’s Bakery and the Hanukkah Miracle – Penelope Peters

Book cover of "Ben's Bakery and the Hanukkah Miracle" with Amazon Affiliate linkIf you want to know how to piss me off when it comes to a book put the setting in Boston but don’t do your research and don’t have the book copy edited or proofread. That’s a guarantee to piss me off. This could’ve easily been a 4.5-star book because of the hilarious hockey kids trying to be matchmaker for their coach, but nope.

I apparently put this on hold when I was in the middle of my 12 Books of MM Holiday Romance binge, but forgot about it until I was notified on January 3 it was available. I went ahead and read it as I’m making my way through Timothy C. Winegard’s fascinating tome The Mosquito: A Human History of Our Deadliest Predator, because let’s face it as fascinating as it is, that book is dense as hell. Book 772: The Remaking of Corbin Wale – Roan Parrish

Book cover of "The Remaking of Corbin Wale" with Amazon Affiliate linkAnd a bonus Hanukkah novel for what was initially my final book in the 12 Books of MM Holiday Romance binge. I’m capping it at 16 because that’s how many I apparently had already downloaded to my Kindle ¯_(ツ)_/¯. I honestly wasn’t paying attention and as I read and removed I added more. Don’t get me wrong there will be more MM romances, but I need to save the hundreds of others for future years, right?

I say this is a bonus Hanukkah novel because I had completely forgotten this one was Hanukkah rather than Christmas based. I saw it on a holiday list, recognized Parrish’s name and had to grab it. I read Better Than People earlier in the year and found it to be beautifully written and have had a copy of In the Middle of Somewhere sitting on my Kindle since then, so yeah of course I grabbed this.

Book 771: The Chrismukkah Crisis – Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood

Book cover of "The Chrismukkah Crisis" with Amazon Affiliate linkWell of course I’m going to like a book that starts off with a Wuthering Heights quote and throws in a Jane Austen reference later in the story. Add in the weird/awkward Star Wars reference (see last additional quote) and this book was basically written for me. Thankfully, it was well written, and I enjoyed the story and characters too!

For my 11th book in the 12 Books of MM Holiday Romance binge I decided to read (and have now—without any shock to anyone—surpassed as I’m typing this) The Chrismukkah Crisis. And this one holds the honor of being only the second one written by male authors (a married couple at that!).
