Book 1,062: Go Luck Yourself (Royals & Romance #2) – Sara Raasch

When the publisher reached out to me with a copy of this, I went back and forth on whether to accept.* I was still making my way through the first in the series and it was a bit of a slog, but as I neared the end I found myself really enjoying that one and wanted to know what happened so I grabbed a digital copy of it—but for real go look at the physical copy . . . I mean those green edges are GORGEOUS!

Picking up immediately after The Nightmare Before Kissmass, we find ourselves with Kris, the Christmas spare, as he’s woefully moping around having confessed his feelings to the Princess of Easter. He’s back at university and looking for an outlet. Unfortunately, that outlet ends up being a massive prank involving a ton of tinsel in a room occupied by Loch, who unbeknownst to Kris is the Prince of St. Patrick’s Day. And it goes from there.

Book 1,060: The Nightmare Before Kissmas (Royals & Romance #1) – Sara Raasch

Book cover of "The Nightmare Before Kissmass"This was one of those that almost didn’t happen. Not because of anything particular in the book, even though it does start off pretty slow.

And OOF—it took me so long to get this, Raasch is actually getting ready to publish the sequel next month, which the publisher has also reached out to me about!* And after finishing this one I did accept, so fingers crossed I get to it a lot sooner than it took me to get to this one.

Book 1,059: Most Ardently: A Pride & Prejudice Remix – Gabe Cole Novoa

When my local yarn store announced they were doing a book club with this AND having a skein of yarn dyed inspired by the cover, there was no question I was going to read it. I already have plans to re-read Austen’s six novels in her 250th birthday year. No guarantees, but maybe I’ll also read one fan-fiction/adaptation/inspired by of each as well!

This book is 100% inspired by and definitely not an adaption of, and if I’m honest it could’ve been a little less inspired by the original work. Novoa, probably could’ve done a better job if they let a few more characters or sub-plots go. Seriously, it could’ve stood on it’s own as an adorable historical queer romance, but the constraints of the adaptation made him wedge too much in giving discredit to some amazing aspects of the orginal and some potential to this remix.

Book 1,058: In Deeper Waters – F.T. Lukens

The final book I completed in 2024. There might’ve been one more between this and the last one, I honestly can’t remember anymore.

Whenever we drive to NC to see family we generally break the drive up over two days so the trip is four days there and back (we usually stay a full week in the middle) and the three times we’ve done it now we’ve listened to an audiobook and this time it was In Deeper Waters.

Book 1,048: I Think Our Son Is Gay Vol. 5 (I Think #5) – Okura

I’m just so overwhelmed with the wholesomeness and perfection that is this little series.

The first four books were so endearing, I knew I would have to read the final one as soon as possible. It took a little while as it was the most recently released (just under a year at the time of reading it), but it was well worth the wait.
