Book 852: It Takes Two to Tumble (Seducing the Sedgwicks #1) – Cat Sebastian

Who doesn’t love a little bit of historical romance? I mean these, or at least the hetero versions, are the books I grew up watching my mom read (oh hey Harlequin) and let’s be honest, it was only a matter of time until I dabbled.

This is another one chalked up to I saw a sequel that got my attention (A Gentleman Never Keeps Score) because it had diversity on the cover and the premise was interesting. Add in that book three in the series has a pun-ny title, Two Rogues Make a Right, and I was here for it. Thankfully, my local library came through and after a short wait, I once again dove back into the regency period, this time with a gay lens.

Book 849: One Trick Pony (Clyde’s Corner #3) – Eli Easton

Now, a novella and a book later, I’m able to read and write about the book that drew me into wanting to read the series 😀 I first saw this one come into my inbox from Gay Romance Reviews, but ended up not requesting it because Kindle Unlimited is a gem and I figured I would be able to get to it in my own time. Well that time happened sooner than expected and here we are.

The blurb of this one drew me in with bad-boy Henry from A Prairie Dog’s Love Song having cleaned up his act and started working for Joshua and Ben on the ranch and his awkward interactions with Ben’s friend and former gay-for-pay (but actually gay) porn coworker Micah. I mean come on how was I NOT going to read this one?

Book 848: The Stolen Suitor (Clyde’s Corner #2) – Eli Easton

So, Easton can tell a story that’s NOT a MM Holiday Romance 😀 I mean, I knew this was true, she clearly has dozens of other works out there, but somehow the only two I’ve read from her were both Holiday Romances.

Going into this one my first instinct that Easton bit off more than she could chew with two parallel romances happening at the same time. I wasn’t 100% correct, but I do think there were some weaknesses in the book because she ultimately split the story line and there were so many subplots.

Book 847: A Prairie Dog’s Love Song (Clyde’s Corner #1) – Eli Easton

This is what happens when you see one book with a cute premise, One Trick Pony, realize it’s not the first in the series and then you’re another book and novella down a rabbit hole to read the one you really want to read 😀

Don’t get me wrong, definitely not complaining, I’m going to have to start tracking MM Romances against non-MM Romances so I can actually pace myself, but will I actually do that? No, no I won’t. CAN’T STOP. WON’T STOP!!!!

Book 841: The Sky Blues – Robbie Couch

After finishing Jay’s Gay Agenda, I stumbled across this one either on Amazon or Overdrive in a “similar books” list. The cover was adorable and then I read the blurb and immediately requested a copy of it.

The Sky Blues is a delightful debut novel that tugs at all the heart strings without causing too much angst to the reader, highlights the importance of found family and community, and gives all the young LGBT+/queer kids out there another wonderful book to read that’s full of hope, wonder, and joy.
