Book 1,026: Snow Way in Hell (Snow Way in Hell #1) – Charlie Novak

Book cover of "Snow Way in Hell" with Amazon Affiliate linkI read this because Novak’s novel Up to Snow Good caught my attention and I realized this came first and introduced some of the characters in the second, so figured why not. Plus, when you add in it’s a short story/novella and it includes a protagonist of color, I grabbed it and blazed through it.

Snow Way in Hell is the story of Tarquin, a PhD pursuing academic, and his older brother, Max’s best friend, George, an Olympic snowboarder. Max drags them and a couple of asshat friends (thankfully they bail pretty quickly) on a three-day mess of a vacation.

Book 1,025: We Only Kiss at Christmas (Christmas Collection #2) – Con Riley

Book cover of "We Only Kiss at Christmas" with Amazon Affiliate linkThis is a shared universe story with His Last Christmas in London and I’m so happy that we got Seb and Patrick’s story! They were so adorably mismatched and perfect for each other in that first novel that I really hoped they would get their own.

Seb and Pat were Ian’s roommates from His Last Christmas in London. Seb is smaller and feisty and has a whole history we learn about in this novel, and Pat is a big teddy bear trying to get his personal training/fitness business off the ground.

Book 1,008: Out of Bounds (Browerton University #7) – A.J. Truman

Book cover of "Out of Bounds" with Amazon Affiliate linkThis is the classic jock and art/nerd student getting together trope, but with the added layer of said art student being the jock’s older brother’s best friend. Cliff, the jock, is a first year and making waves in the basketball world. He’s winning games and really making an impact on campus with his popularity. Brennan is the “failed” artist coming back to school to rekindle his mojo and find his inspiration.

Book 1,007: Outside Looking In (Browerton University #6) – A.J. Truman

Nathan is Eamonn’s ex (from Out of this World) and not only is he incredibly spoiled and entitled, he’s just a pain in the ass. Liam is an introverted loaner, recently off a breakup from his ex-girlfriend and best friend hooking up. There was a lot of unnecessary drama about Nathan’s mother that is what drove him to New Zealand, but honestly it just all felt so disconnected from the series that the book would’ve stood better on its own and not part of this series.

Book 1,006: Out of This World (Browerton University #5) – A.J. Truman

Book cover of "Out of this World" with Amazon Affiliate linkAs I mentioned in my Out for the Night review, I think this is probably my second favorite of the series. I would say it has to do with the England setting, and that’s some of it, but most of it is just Rafe for me. It also might have something to do with the opening line being a Pride and Prejudice parody 😀

This book takes us away from the Browerton campus (as does the next one, which I had issues with) for a study abroad program. We still get to check in on Coop and Matty, but it’s pretty removed from the rest of the stories.
