Book 814: Better Be Sure (Harrison Campus #1) – Andy Gallo & Anyta Sunday

I decided to grab this from Kindle Unlimited after seeing Gallo post about the fourth book in the series in Annabeth Albert’s Facebook group. I figured if she approved him to post she must’ve read some of his work  and enjoyed it. Add in that I’m desperately waiting for the next book in Sunday’s Love, Austen series and it was a no brainer.

For the most part, I enjoy campus-based MM romances, especially if it’s a nerd/jock romance. This one wasn’t a nerd/jock but a frat boy and townie which worked and I found it entertaining and a quick read.

Book 813: Cameron Wants to be a Hero (Love, Austen #2) – Anyta Sunday

I was always going to read these. From the second I found out about them from Gay Romance Reviews or when I randomly stumbled across them at some future date.*  With a description like, “It’s Northanger Abbey, complete with a neo-gothic mansion and charming misunderstandings. But contemporary. And gay.”, hell yes I was going to read them.

Both this and Emerett Has Never Been in Love, were adorable retellings of Austen’s works. I’m a little concerned Sunday will abandon the project before she gets to Mansfield Park (even though I SWEAR we met the characters) or Persuasion, like it seems most do (stupid Marvel and Austen Project).

Book 808: Galaxies and Oceans – N.R. Walker

I grabbed this after seeing Annabeth Albert talk about it in either her Facebook group or on her email list. I’ve read quite a bit of Walker and enjoyed her for the most part, but to hear Albert rave about this one I was like “uhhhh, duh I’m going to read it.”

Thankfully Kindle Unlimited had it and I was able to read it sooner rather than later 😀

Galaxies and Oceans starts off with the harrowing journey of Aubrey, running away from his past life  carrying only his grandfather’s telescope and staging his own death in a brush fire, and eventually running into Patrick, a lonely lighthouse keeper dealing with the death of his partner in a storm on a fishing boat a few years prior.

Book 804: Finn’s Fantasy (Maine Men #1) – K.C. Wells

Full disclosure, when I said yes to this from Gay Romance Reviews, I accidentally confused Wells with Elle Brownlee (if you remember my obsession with Two for Trust you’d know why).* I knew Wells name was familiar, because I’ve actually read a few other books by her that I enjoyed.

The real kicker and reason I said yes to this one is because it is set in Maine and we’re of course obsessed with Maine. We spend more time in the lakes region or Western Maine rather than on the coast, like where these are set, but of course I was going to read a series set in Maine by an author who is in my mid-range of sure I’ll read 😀

Book 801: The Little Library – Kim Fielding

What a lovely little novel. I grabbed it from the library after reading Teddy Spenser Isn’t Looking for Love and it was a fun read as spring slowly approaches in Boston.

I obviously picked it up because of the title and was so happy the little library played such a big part, including one of the final scenes that totally had me tearing up!

The Little Library is the story of Elliott, a recently scandalized former professor trying to build back his career, and Simon, an ex-cop trying to figure out what to do with his life after a bullet to the knee forced a career realignment. Clearly, they’re going to fall in love and the library is going to play a part, this is a romance novel after all.
