I’m not sure where I first came across this work, it might’ve been on a library list of YA novels to read, or it might’ve been a random Insta ad/post by someone I follow.
Either way, I added it to my list immediately and promptly forgot about it. When we went on vacation last month this was one of the few reserve books I took with me that I didn’t quite make it to, so I slotted it in at first chance and am so glad I finally got around to reading it. If I would’ve read it on vacation it would’ve taken half as long, but I kept falling asleep reading it this time (stupid time change).

I grabbed this one from Gay Romance Reviews because at first I thought it was set in Chesapeake, Virginia, where my sister lives (I really SHOULD start reading the blurbs), but quickly found out it was Maryland.* The other reason was that I apparently was going through a single caregiver phase. This was the third or fourth over a very short period and they just melt my heart every time.
This book served as a palate cleanser/reward between nonfiction and TBR books while on vacation a few weeks ago. I’ve previously read a couple of Wells books and know they’re pretty low conflict/angst with decent characters, storylines, and sex scenes. So I added it to my queue.
Give me an opposites-attract, man-in-uniform, light on the sex book any day and I am here for it! I knew the first two when I grabbed a copy of this from Gay Romance Reviews, but I didn’t know the third and that made it that much better!* And that was before I opened it to find a discussion about 
Oh, Annabeth Albert, how I love thee . . . seriously though, I should just write an ode to here and be done with my reviews. I say this even though there are some of her earlier books that aren’t as well written as her more recent books, where she’s really coming into her own, they’re still REALLY good books.
