August Recap 2021

August was a meh month, like July it was either super-hot or super foggy/stormy. There was no escape from the bad weather and only a couple of “nice” days, but that meant I got more knitting and reading done than I have in a while!

Generally, you can see a massive gazebo just up and to the left of the lifeguard stand in the photo. And you can see all the way to the JFK Library, roughly a mile walking from where I’m standing taking that picture. by time I got to the gazebo the entire bathhouse and lights were gone.

June Recap 2021

I am currently sitting poolside in Aruba waiting for the towel hut to open so we can reserve our chairs for the day. It is luxurious.

If things had gone to plan we would’ve been somewhere in Europe right now on a cruise ship, but they didn’t so I’m on this ridiculously beautiful and temperate island averaging a book every other day and getting a seriously nice tan 😀 We also spent a long weekend up in Maine earlier in the month for Tim’s actual birthday, so this month has just been travel travel travel.

May Recap 2021

Another whirlwind month in what seems to be the waning stages of the pandemic (I’m still not convinced).

After the last-minute trip home for my grandfather’s services, I immediately turned around and got on a plane again to go see Tim’s family in Las Vegas. Tim’s finally back to a normal schedule, but I’m still WFH probably through the end of the year at this point (just speculation on my part) and we had to cancel our big August/September trip but are still hoping we’ll be able to get a house somewhere for a week at least.

February Recap 2020

It feels like ages ago that we were on our (what has come to be) annual trek to warmer climates during the winter. And I miss it so much, I mean look at that water and that blue sky, it was wonderful and even worth the sunburn!

We did the same cruise we did last year, which allowed me to read four full books and get a good chunk of the way through a fifth, all while lounging by a pool or on a beach. Isn’t that the life?
