A life of books . . .
It’s been a super quiet month on the reading front. The class I’m taking has sucked up most of my reading time and what time I’m not reading I’m spending knitting.
It feels like ages ago that we were in New Hampshire for a week, but it was only a month ago as this posts but yeah 2020 is still flying. Other signs fall arrives: work is picking up, we went apple picking and leaf peeping, and all the knitting 😀 We’re heading out to western Massachusetts for the long weekend and that’ll be nice.
I of course grabbed a copy of this from NetGalley when I saw the cover because it’s freakin’ adorable.* I’m also, miraculously, pushing this post on the same day it’s published which RARELY happens! Don’t get me wrong, I love the ones with abs, but a cute dog and two guys clearly dressed for fall holding hands, sing me up.
This is the story of Jack, who breaks a bone in his leg/ankle while walking his pack of dogs, and Simon, a super anxious guy who loves animals but has trouble being around, speaking to or interacting with people.

Holy, reading Batman! I read 12 books this month thanks to a hot streak of MM romance novels and I’m astounded at that number.
Aside from reading I’ve spent time knitting, baking, and, over the last week, obsessively playing Animal Crossing. I also dug out my DVD case because I was desperate to watch Pride and Prejudice (2005) and it was only streaming on one service we don’t have.
January has been a weird month. It’s been over 70°F and close to 0°F a couple of times, I’ve been sick, we went to a travel fair, and I’ve knit a lot. I’m still trying to figure out where it went, but mostly looking forward to being on a cruise ship heading to the Caribbean in less than two weeks 😀
I’m trying to read a few shorter works so that I can have some posts published while we’re on vacation without internet access for a week, and more importantly I’m trying to figure out what books I’m going to take with me!
November and December were a bit of a blur with three trips, the busiest time of year at work and a I had a strong desire to knit more than I’ve had in the last few months, so my reading slumped and my blog posting definitely slumped.
This post is a pretty light recap of the past two months with A LOT of photos. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen most of them, but I’ve included a few panoramic views from our trip to Death Valley National Park and a few others that didn’t make the Instagram cut.
