Book 1,013: Make Me Stay (Safe Harbor #2) – Annabeth Albert

If there is a theme to Albert’s Safe Harbor series it is a little bit too much. Don’t get me wrong, they are not bad books, each one just has one or two too many elements for me. They’re still very well written character driven stories, there’s just too much going on for my personal tastes.

I’m not sure if this falls under the hurt/comfort or maybe (hurt/comfort)2, but it is somewhere in that category. Both main characters have trauma they start to overcome in this novel. Then you throw in the murder mystery and the kinky sex, it’s a lot.

Book 941: Dylan’s Dilemma (Maine Men #4) – K.C. Wells

On my trek to get to Aaron’s Awakening, I continued to make my way through Wells’ series. I did get sick while visiting Texas so quite a few of these are going to be back posted as I catch up on things. I was a little disappointed in the series with the last installation and all I can say about this one is the same.

For me, the problem with this one and the last one is the character development. There were such strong characters in the first two books who grew and changed within their stories, but in Seb’s Summer and this one the characters were okay, but they just fell flat for me.

Book 933: Hope on the Rocks (Rainbow Cove #4) – Annabeth Albert

Whenever I get a chance to throw in something from Annabeth Albert’s back catalog, I usually do. I’m slowly making my way through it and this was the last book in her Rainbow Cove series.

I like to think that this series and her Portland Heat series are in a shared universe, I mean they’re only so far apart on the Oregon coast. Rainbow Cove is definitely kinkier than Portland Heat, but they both have their moments.

Book 894: People Like Us (Winsford Green #2) – Ruby Moone

This is the second installment in Ruby Moone’s Winsford Green series after Dances Long Forgotten. I started the series when I accepted A Christmas Miracle, the fourth book, from Gay Romance Reviews and am glad I started it.

I was really hoping each one would have a contemporary connection like the first book, but this one didn’t have it. That didn’t detract from the story, but I still felt it would’ve been a cool connection between each of the books even though all the characters seem to know/meet each other.

Book 878: Mr. Naughty List (Home for the Holidays #2) – Leta Blake

Kindle Unlimited is both a curse and a blessing. There are some well written and incredibly poor written books on there, and there are SO MANY books. You’ll never really be at a loss for something if you’re cool with self-publishing (which is always hit or miss), don’t want to read anything from most major publishers, and aren’t looking for the hot new release. So yeah, definitely hit or miss.

It was a hit for me after having received a review request for Mr. Jingle Bells, the third book in Leta Blake’s Home for the Holidays series. I was able to grab Mr. Frosty Pants and this one. And let me tell you, this one REALLY picks up the spice and the heat. I’m talking full on kink-tacular Christmas celebration with costumes and spanking and other stuff too.
