November Recap 2020

It’s funny how fast this year has gone. I mean it’s probably not any faster than usual, but I think because of the lack of changing location it seems to have all blended together.

We did get to do a few things this month aside from sit around the house. We went to the Zoo Lights at Franklin Park Zoo and actually bought tickets for the Christmas version in late December. It was a nice night and there weren’t too many people so that was a bonus! We also drove up to Maine a few times before they banned us once again, work was very busy (but to be expected) and I read quite a bit. Thanksgiving was nice and quiet, just the two of us with a lot of steak 😀 Continue reading “November Recap 2020”

October Recap 2020

Sunrise over Carson Beach in south bostonOctober was a blur, work continues from home and the only thing to change things up was a long weekend out in the Berkshires (western Massachusetts) for Indigenous People’s day. The weather has been changing rapidly here, my morning walks have been completely in the dark and this past Friday (October 30) it SNOWED (end of post picture).

We visited Hancock Shaker Village which was really neat (two photos below) and drove through a lot of the small towns and just enjoyed spending some time in Lenox and Stockbridge that we’ve visited in the past but only fleetingly as we’ve avoided the crowds in the past.

A Decade of Blogging

close up image of the #10 on a houseWhat a year. I’m still trying to comprehend how the last 1/3 has played out between coronavirus and global demonstrations against systemic oppression and working from home since March, like it’s just been a weird year since my last blogiversary.

Since last July 20, I have read 98 books. That is SHOCKING, but not really with the number of romance novels I’ve plowed through since March, but stills seems like a really high number. I’m glad over the past year I’ve continued reading whatever I want with little rhyme or reason, I’ve steadily inched closer to 700 books read and blogged about since I started blogging, and I surpassed 1,000 posts on here in the past year.

October Recap 2019

It’s fall y’all! Although, in New England it’s rapidly approaching winter with how fast the leaves are changing. We made what has apparently become our annual trip up to Northern(ish) Maine to spend a quite weekend getting ready for all the holiday travel and to of course see the leaves changing colors. It was well worth the drive even if the house we rented was just past the peak leaf-peeping line. We stayed in Rangeley, Maine in the lakes region and visited UMaine Farmington on one of the days we were up there.

June Recap 2019

June was an incredibly busy month! We traveled to the West Coast for almost two weeks for a wedding and to see friends/family, I read 14 books, and we did some local exploration too. June was also pride month, and shockingly—we usually avoid it because I don’t like crowds and it’s usually too damn hot in June—we actually attended pride in Portland, Oregon. See what I did with the rainbow hop and the intro…yeah 😀
