November Recap 2020

It’s funny how fast this year has gone. I mean it’s probably not any faster than usual, but I think because of the lack of changing location it seems to have all blended together.

We did get to do a few things this month aside from sit around the house. We went to the Zoo Lights at Franklin Park Zoo and actually bought tickets for the Christmas version in late December. It was a nice night and there weren’t too many people so that was a bonus! We also drove up to Maine a few times before they banned us once again, work was very busy (but to be expected) and I read quite a bit. Thanksgiving was nice and quiet, just the two of us with a lot of steak 😀

Books and Bookish Things

I somehow managed to actually read TWO of the five outstanding ARC/galleys(*) that I had and as we ended the month I started on the third. I also squeezed in five romance novels because why not!

  1. Voices of LGBTQ+ – Lynda Wolters*
  2. The Friend Scheme – Cale Dietrich
  3. Eat A Peach – David Chang w/ Gabe Ulla*
  4. Strawberry Kisses – Charlie Novak
  5. Screens Apart – Charlie Novak
  6. Better Not Pout – Annabeth Albert
  7. The Problem with Mistletoe (Five Point Stories #1) – Kyle Baxter
  8. Bring Me Edelweiss (Five Point Stories #2) – Kyle Baxter

Honestly, I’m going to say the last three were my favorite. I mean they’re lifetime movies with gay characters in book form, what’s not to love?!

I picked up a few books this month when we were in Belgrade Lakes, Maine and received two ARCs/galleys (*) that are published early next year:

We also put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and I had my little literary section on it:

Those two books were hand made by a friend and gifted from another friend—one is E. Brontë and the other is J. Austin (which I’m still giggling about)—and I picked up the Jane Austen one when we visited the Jane Austen House a couple years ago.

What’s Next?

Settling into the winter routine of knitting and hibernating 🙂 I taught myself how to crochet toward the end of the month to finish off a project, but am back to cranking out knitted smaller items for various presents.

Work should slow down soon and I am 100% looking forward to diving into more of these holiday romances so gird your loins! [You’re welcome in advance I’m not doing 31 MM-romance Christmas books in December. I briefly debated it but realized I wasn’t going to have time so maybe next year . . .]

  1. Sounds like you had a nice, quiet month of November, with lots of reading! I also love how you have a literary section on your Christmas tree! 😊 Take care and happy festive reading in December. 🎄🙂

    1. We were joking as we set up the tree that we’re almost to the point we could have three themed trees: literary, travel and sports/colleges 😀

Hope you had a great November!
