I love Annabeth Albert and I love MM military/veteran romances, so it’s a match made in heaven for all I have to say about it. The piece that I was meh about, was the body-guard aspect of the series, but seeing some reviews on Goodreads, maybe I’ve been missing out!

This is the classic jock and art/nerd student getting together trope, but with the added layer of said art student being the jock’s older brother’s best friend. Cliff, the jock, is a first year and making waves in the basketball world. He’s winning games and really making an impact on campus with his popularity. Brennan is the “failed” artist coming back to school to rekindle his mojo and find his inspiration.

This book might be my favorite in the series. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s an opposite attract thing or the super nerd and cool-beefy jock-type or something else entirely. It could be that both find confidence outside of what they usually do, but honestly, I’m not sure.
