It’s hard to believe that six years ago this past Wednesday (July 20), I wrote this awkward post and began this crazy book blogger journey. I’ve re-read some of the earlier posts recently and wow have I grown as a blogger 😀
I’m not doing any stats this year. It’s been a long year with a lot of changes and I’m proud I’ve kept The Oddness of Moving Things going.
I don’t know how long I’ll keep going, but I have the idea of 10 years or 1,000 books in my head. That could just be exhaustion talking, but you never know?
Thanks for a wonderful six years, it wouldn’t be worth it without all the fabulous interactions everyone in the Book Blogging community provides!
Congratulations! Glad you’ve stuck around for this long! Your blog’s been one of my favourites for a while now.
Thanks Rob!
Congrats on six years! I started my blog in similar fashion- a numbered challenge- and it’s nothing like that now. I’m gonna go back and see what book you first reviewed 😊
Oh don’t haahaa! It’s a pathetic response to Zadie Smith’s White Teeth.
As a very intermittent blogger ( ie I post about once every six months!) I can only admire your ability to keep your blog going – mine ran out of steam after 6 weeks!!!! Congratulations and thanks – while I might not post myself I rely on you and others for my book tips!!!!
Thanks! It took a good full year before I got into the habit of actually posting everything.
Happy 6th Blogoversary 😀
Thanks Jessica!
I’m too embarrassed to even look at the first post I did! it takes a lot of effort to keep blogs alive like yours and many people fall off the wagon early on. well done for keeping going and for keeping us all entertained and informed
Thanks! I think you’re right and I’ve kept it going because every year it’s an extension of something I never thought I would achieve.
Congratulations on six years of blogging! It takes determination and perseverance to keep a blog going. 🙂
Thanks Grace! It really does, thankfully most of the time it’s rewarding and a lot of fun too 🙂
Congrats Geoff! I’m hoping I make it 10 years too. Right now, it’s just such a big part of my life, I can’t imagine giving it up.
Thanks! I keep swinging back and forth. I imagine what it would be like not to write about every book and it seems sad, but then I also think about how much more time I would have.
Wow, six years is an incredible achievement! I’m sure you will have plenty more. I haven’t been following your blog for very long, nor have I been keeping up with your posts very well, I’m sorry. Hope to see you around more for the rest of the year!
How many books have you currently reviewed or featured in your blog? Are you anywhere near to 1000? That sounds like an impossible and exhausting task! 10 years would be a more reasonable goal. :]
I haven’t been blogging for very long at all and I don’t want to think about how long I’ll be doing this for, but I hope it’s for several years as well.
Haahaa no worries about keeping up. There are so many blogs out there and even more important books to read! I’m just over 450 books right now.
