July Recap 2021

This month started in Aruba where the weather was perfect, the breeze was constant and I was reading books 6-8 hours a day while hanging out in or at a pool right on the water.

It ended in Boston where the weather has been for lack of a better term scattered-at-best: heat wave, a bunch of big thunderstorms, rain and under 60°F, foggy as hell, smoke clouds from the wildfires on the West Coast and Canada, I mean seriously!

December Recap 2020

Tim dressed in winter clothing standing next to a decorative gingerbread man and dachshund with a Christmas sweaterAnd 2020 is done—I can’t even whoop, it’s mostly just a long sigh of relief. December was incredibly busy with year-end fundraising at work and then we were unexpectedly given an extra week off in the last two weeks! So, like the rest of the last nine months being stuck at home, time continued to fly by for me!

It was a quiet month for the most part since we didn’t travel to see family, but we had plenty of Zoom and Google Meetups to see everyone and for the most part it was fun and hilariously entertaining. My birthday passed without much fuss, but a deliciously wonderful cake (see end of post) and we had a quiet Christmas just the two of us. We went to see Zoo Lights at Stone Zoo the day after Christmas and were disappointed (photo above). Franklin Park Zoo does it so much better, so we’ll stick with that one in the future.

October Recap 2020

Sunrise over Carson Beach in south bostonOctober was a blur, work continues from home and the only thing to change things up was a long weekend out in the Berkshires (western Massachusetts) for Indigenous People’s day. The weather has been changing rapidly here, my morning walks have been completely in the dark and this past Friday (October 30) it SNOWED (end of post picture).

We visited Hancock Shaker Village which was really neat (two photos below) and drove through a lot of the small towns and just enjoyed spending some time in Lenox and Stockbridge that we’ve visited in the past but only fleetingly as we’ve avoided the crowds in the past.

September Recap 2020

Rows of apple trees with a super tall sunflower plant with multiple flowers on itIt’s been a super quiet month on the reading front. The class I’m taking has sucked up most of my reading time and what time I’m not reading I’m spending knitting.

It feels like ages ago that we were in New Hampshire for a week, but it was only a month ago as this posts but yeah 2020 is still flying. Other signs fall arrives: work is picking up, we went apple picking and leaf peeping, and all the knitting 😀 We’re heading out to western Massachusetts for the long weekend and that’ll be nice.

March Recap 2019

March was incredibly busy, mostly thanks to a week-long cruise to the Caribbean. So it was relaxing busy—that’s a thing right?

The best part though, was when we got on our plane to Florida it was snowing and then we were in the Caribbean for a week. FANTASTIC. In addition the annual video game exposition, PAX East, came to Boston and we went this past Sunday.
