It’s weird writing this a week into November. I was doing so good about keeping up but the end of October and the beginning of November has been long and exhausting. School is picking up with shifting from fall one to fall two classes and midterms and the reading is no joke. And that doesn’t even take into work ALWAYS picking up around this time.
On the plus side, Barnaby and Tim have been extra adorable and supportive, I mean look at that photo. Tim is so worried about Barnaby getting too big to carry around and really snuggle that he’s trying to get in as much as he can now, and one day I was knitting and looked over to see that and my heart melted.
Books and Bookish Things
I got more read than I thought I would, but nowhere near as much as I have in the past, but that will be the case moving forward. The Nhat Hanh book was for my brave communication/public speaking class and I very much enjoyed it.
- Flamer – Mike Curato
- Theory of Happiness (I Hear the Sunspot #2) – Yuki Fumino
- Our Dreams at Dusk (Our Dreams at Dusk #1) – Yuhki Kamatani
- Henry Hamlet’s Heart – Rhiannon Wilde
- The Art of Communicating – Thich Nhat Hanh
I’ve started to see the MM Christmas Romance ARCs populate the various sites and I am VERY excited. I wish I could grab them all, but that probably won’t happen so I’m trying to be really selective. That being said, I already have two so fingers crossed I stay somewhat strong.
- The Christmas Leap – Keira Andrews*
- The Art of Communicating – Thich Nhat Hanh
- Don’t Think of an Elephant! – George Lakoff
- His Last Christmas in London (Christmas Collection #1) – Con Riley*
- Heartthrob (Honeywood #1) – Noah Steele*
This was a cool book thing I saw on the interwebs this month:

Crafting Corner
My knitting has actually stayed somewhat productive thanks to being able to knit while in class (sometimes, if it gets too complicated I have to stop). I finished three projects last month and have started a test knit I’m SUPER excited about and it is gorgeous so far. On the left are a pair of socks for Tim and on the right is a shawl I wrapped up and will eventually block and wear.
What’s Next?
Surviving. HA! I mean that’s always next, but really it’s getting through this month and the first two weeks in December, and then I get a reprieve on courses. I’m doing some gift knitting that is sucking up time and I really want to start a sweater for Tim. On the reading fron,t it will be fluff outside of Don’t Think of the Elephant! which a portion was assigned reading for my public speaking class and I found it fascinating so am finishing it out.
