Book 1,020: Not So Silent Night – H.L. Day

Book cover of "Not So Silent Night" with Amazon Affiliate linkThis has been on my Kindle for at least a year, if not two. I think I added it to my list when I went through the “How many MM Holiday Romances can I read in a month?” phase. Either way it sat there until now and I was flipping through looking for a light hearted read after the dense nonfiction of The West.

Starting out, I really wasn’t sure if it was going to be a hate read to finish it or if I was going to actually start to enjoy it. We start off with Xander, a spoiled elitist model who really annoyed me, but he kind of gets his comeuppance with a really bad ski injury and his dick of a boyfriend’s response. We then pick up with Ferris, who as much as I ultimately enjoyed his character, is an over the top nurse who takes a hit right as things are starting to look up! But this allows for the meet-cute and the story runs from there.

Book 984: Two for Trust – Elle Brownlee

Book cover for "Two for Trust" with Amazon Affiliate linkI’m not going to spend a lot of time on this review. You can go back and read my original from May 2020. I decided to re-read this to see if it held up for me and it really did.

More “issues” arose this time around with some stilted dialogue and weird time jumps, but those didn’t detract from my sheer joy at reading it. It’s a tame and totally adorable romance with a little bit of external drama to really make Finch and Benedict get their shit together.

Book 974: Boyfriend Material (London Calling #1) – Alexis Hall

Cover of "Boyfriend Materia" with Amazon Affiliate linkThere’s not a lot to say about this one because I reviewed it in 2020 and adored it. Tim stumbled across it on our road trip to NC for Thanksgiving, thought I would enjoy it without realizing I’d read it already, and downloaded the audio version for us to listen to on our trip.

Book 972: His Last Christmas in London (Christmas Collection #1) – Con Riley

Book cover of "His Last Christmas in London" with Amazon Affiliate linkCon Riley is one of those authors who has a really great sense of place. When I read their “His” series, I legit wanted to buy a bed and breakfast or a pub and hotel and move to the southern coast of England. So, when I saw this MM Holiday Romance pop up from Gay Romance Reviews I jumped at it.*

This is the story of Ian, a struggling photographer whose gotten out of an abusive professional/personal relationship and has realized he can’t make it in London no matter how much he’s tried and his roommates have helped out. He agrees to one last job at 3x his rate with his old boss/lover and meets Guy, a restaurant critic with a huge overshadowing persona. And even though it’s not love at first sight, it’s definitely confusion and lust.

Book 971: The Christmas Leap (Festive Fakes #2) – Keira Andrews

Book cover of "The Christmas Leap" with Amazon Affiliate linkWe all knew this was coming . . . the MM Holiday Romance extravaganza. Honestly, I thought it’d be later but realizing just how little reading time I have these days and how quickly I got through these when they started to arrive on Gay Romance Reviews of course I started looking.*

I grabbed this one because it’s set in the same universe as Andrews’ The Christmas Deal that I read last year and thoroughly enjoyed. We get a brief check-in with Seth and Logan who offer some savvy advice to Will as he’s figuring stuff out because he works with them and they encourage the fake boyfriend caper.
