2022 Year-End Recap

Snapshot of Goodreads "My Year in Books" with 22,935 pages read and 85 books read"The most shocking thing this year is that I was able to read anything after June 30. Between work being ridiculous love the summer, long-delayed pandemic vacations, and starting school again I’m shocked I read as much as I did.

You can definitely see a bit of a dip after June, but MM Romance novels kept my numbers up and probably will continue to keep them up over the next two years. My page count is way down, but what can you do? At least I’m still finding time to read.

2021 Year-End Recap

Well, year two of the global coronavirus pandemic saw my reading go up even more than it did last year! From the number of books being up by five (thanks MM Romance novels) to the number of pages being up by a little under 3k (thanks big-ass-doorstopper books), it was just a big year.

I highly doubt I’ll see this trend continue between work being busy again and little-to-no commute and knitting taking up a lot of my free time, but never say never right?

2020 Year-End Recap

Goodreads year in review showing open book with total pages read (31,372) and total books read (113) in 2020Goodreads really is the worst isn’t it? They did such a good job with the cool graphics last year (see first photo) and then this year they just dropped the ball. And don’t even get me started on some of the ridiculous reviews on there, but that’s less them and more the users. Unfortunately, I still like them better than some of the others so I’m stuck with them for now.

2020 was a fascinating year. We all experienced the pandemic and most of us either didn’t read or read more and I was most definitely in the latter group. I set my standard goal of a book a week and smashed it out of the park this year! It is 100% thanks to the MM Romance spree I went on starting in April and continuing through the 14-book streak at the end of the year!

2018 Year-End Recap

Another calendar year gone and six more months toward 9 years of The Oddness of Moving Things. Now that my last books of 2018 have posted I’m ready to share my stats for the year.

It was yet another crazy busy year in my personal life and I’m not sure it will ever slow down again. After taking some time off and starting a new job at the very end of December that has a lot of long term viability I’m hoping at least my professional life will stabilize, allowing me to READ MORE BOOKS! Now on to the numbers.

Workout Wednesday – February 2014

I’m finally ready for winter to be over. I’ll be incredibly sad to see the snow go and that there won’t be the beauty of the silent snow falling or even the cold (I do love it). The problem is I’ve definitely hit a low point. The short days and even the coldness in the morning are seriously starting to affect my ability to get out of bed, not to mention get out of bed and drag myself the half mile to CrossFit and back before 7AM! I mean the past two weeks I dropped down to one day a week, but somehow kept up at least two days a week running at the gym.

I’ve tried counteracting it by getting new SERIOUSLY BRIGHT work out gear (I needed it anyway), but that’s only given me temporary reprieves and I’m just ready to be outside again. What I really need to do is get a new pair of shoes as mine are almost stripped, it might be time to invest in a full price pair. I’m not sure how I feel about the new FitBit band, I love the brightness, but I definitely feel like it’s getting dirty very quickly.
