February Recap 2021

photo of a cabin covered in snow with a picnic table to the right of the cabin and a frozen lake in the backgroundIt has been soooo cold and wet and rainy in New England the past few weeks. That’s nothing out of the ordinary and doesn’t really affect me much since I’m not leaving the house, but when you can feel the cold through the windows you know it’s cold-cold!

Work has started to pick up for the spring like it usually does, so my reading will be slumping for a bit even though this list looks like a lot, it’s back to MM Romance novels because they’re quick and entertaining. Hopefully, I’ll switch them out so it’s not all MM Romance all the time, but who knows!?

January Recap 2021

I somehow ended up without a photo for January 2021! I guess I could’ve taken one of the snow from yesterday (Feb 1) as I write this, but that’s not really January. So instead you get this hilarious comic I downloaded from reddit when I read Winegard’s The Mosquito, but forgot to use it in my response to the book!

And if I’m being completely honest, I’m surprised it took 10 months for me to NOT have an actual picture to use during this pandemic, and to be fair I have two further on with knitting but they work better together. 2020 was such a mess and then 2021 started off even messier so who knows where we’re going at this point in the US.

December Recap 2020

Tim dressed in winter clothing standing next to a decorative gingerbread man and dachshund with a Christmas sweaterAnd 2020 is done—I can’t even whoop, it’s mostly just a long sigh of relief. December was incredibly busy with year-end fundraising at work and then we were unexpectedly given an extra week off in the last two weeks! So, like the rest of the last nine months being stuck at home, time continued to fly by for me!

It was a quiet month for the most part since we didn’t travel to see family, but we had plenty of Zoom and Google Meetups to see everyone and for the most part it was fun and hilariously entertaining. My birthday passed without much fuss, but a deliciously wonderful cake (see end of post) and we had a quiet Christmas just the two of us. We went to see Zoo Lights at Stone Zoo the day after Christmas and were disappointed (photo above). Franklin Park Zoo does it so much better, so we’ll stick with that one in the future.

September Recap 2020

Rows of apple trees with a super tall sunflower plant with multiple flowers on itIt’s been a super quiet month on the reading front. The class I’m taking has sucked up most of my reading time and what time I’m not reading I’m spending knitting.

It feels like ages ago that we were in New Hampshire for a week, but it was only a month ago as this posts but yeah 2020 is still flying. Other signs fall arrives: work is picking up, we went apple picking and leaf peeping, and all the knitting 😀 We’re heading out to western Massachusetts for the long weekend and that’ll be nice.

A Decade of Blogging

close up image of the #10 on a houseWhat a year. I’m still trying to comprehend how the last 1/3 has played out between coronavirus and global demonstrations against systemic oppression and working from home since March, like it’s just been a weird year since my last blogiversary.

Since last July 20, I have read 98 books. That is SHOCKING, but not really with the number of romance novels I’ve plowed through since March, but stills seems like a really high number. I’m glad over the past year I’ve continued reading whatever I want with little rhyme or reason, I’ve steadily inched closer to 700 books read and blogged about since I started blogging, and I surpassed 1,000 posts on here in the past year.
