Book 975: A Gift-Wrapped Holiday (Lighthouse Bay #4) – Amy Aislin

Book cover of "A Gift-Wrapped Holiday" with Amazon Affiliate linkI requested a copy of this from Gay Romance Reviews because it’s Maine and I remembered enjoying the couple of books I read by Amy Aislin.*

This is the story of Luca who fled the west coast after his family shot down his idea to make their wrapping paper company more eco-friendly and environmentally conscious to open his own holiday wrapping store, and Mal, a single dad and graphic designer who recently moved back to his home town to be closer to family.

Book 971: The Christmas Leap (Festive Fakes #2) – Keira Andrews

Book cover of "The Christmas Leap" with Amazon Affiliate linkWe all knew this was coming . . . the MM Holiday Romance extravaganza. Honestly, I thought it’d be later but realizing just how little reading time I have these days and how quickly I got through these when they started to arrive on Gay Romance Reviews of course I started looking.*

I grabbed this one because it’s set in the same universe as Andrews’ The Christmas Deal that I read last year and thoroughly enjoyed. We get a brief check-in with Seth and Logan who offer some savvy advice to Will as he’s figuring stuff out because he works with them and they encourage the fake boyfriend caper.

Book 970: Heartthrob (Honeywood #1) – Noah Steele

Book cover of "Heaththrob" with Amazon Affiliate linkOMG, ya’ll this is an author to keep an eye on. That’s not something I usually say when it comes to a self-published author I come across via Gay Romance Reviews.*

More often than not I’m complaining about the quality of either the story, the writing, or the editing (or all three or some combination), and don’t get me wrong there were a few issues with this one but Steele can definitely write and I’m already looking at his back catalog to see what I want to read next.

Book 968: Henry Hamlet’s Heart – Rhiannon Wilde

Book cover of "Henry Hamlet's Heart" with Amazon Affiliate linkI picked this review copy up a while ago and due to school and work being a bit much recently, I’m posting this almost two weeks late.* I really try to have my responses published the week of publication but that week was also the week my first big paper was due, which I did great on, but still better luck next time.

Henry Hamlet’s Heart is the story of Henry and Len, best friends that have been in each others’ orbit forever. Henry has existed as the non-sexual know-it-all brainiac and Len has existed as the sexually fluid footballer who does what he wants when he wants with whoever he wants.

Book 958: My Love Mix-Up! (Vol. 4) – Wataru Hinekure & Aruko

Book cover of "My Love Mix-Up! Vol. 4" with Amazon Affiliate linkI’m STILL squeeing about this adorable manga! I wish I could read Japanese because they’re already on Volume 9! I also just found out there’s a TV show version so I may try and figure that out soon. Mostly, I’m just glad my library had as many as they did and have my fingers crossed they’ll keep getting them as they’re released.

In this book, we have our first drama of the series, outside of the comedies of error. Aoki freaks out because of how nonchalant Ida is in telling people they’re dating. It comes from a well-meaning place, he doesn’t want either of them to get bullied, but it’s totally misplaced.
