What an unexciting month . . . a lot of it probably has to do with a full year of doing the same thing over and over, but it was also just a nice boring predictable month without any surprises.
I mean it’s very telling that the most exciting picture I could find for the month was some delicious taco soup! So, I will take it.
I spent most of the month reading and knitting and working. It’s been a busy month at work, but for the rest of it it’s been quiet. The weather is finally turning spring like which is nice. I finished the Ppo-ppo shawl, designed by a friend’s sister, which you can see more close ups on my Instagram.
Books and Bookish Things
Leaned into the MM romances this month because work was so busy. I needed the escapism and easy reads. I wasn’t a big fan of Albert’s (shocking) but enjoyed Fielding’s books. I revisited Grimsley who I hadn’t read in over a decade and thoroughly enjoyed Body of Stars and The House in the Cerulean Sea. And, for the most part I enjoyed Sunday’s Austen adaptation of Emma and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Surprisingly, I read two of the books I picked up and have already scheduled out the other two so that’s a shock since I’m actually trying to read more books off my shelf, some of which have been there since I started this blog!
What’s Next?
I’m making progress on my TBR shelves and have already doubled the number read this year versus last year and have made a list with a random selection tool for all books on my list under 250 pages and that’s where a lot of books I’ve read recently have come from such as Hallucinating Foucault, My Drowning, and the upcoming Sixpence House. I finally accepted my copy of The Prophets from the library, which I really hope lives up to all the hype!
We’ve also started booking travel later this year and I know Tim’s super excited and as anxious as I am, I’m ready for it too!
